First founded in 1893 in Asahikawa, Hokkaido, 12 years later the brewery moved to Iwase in Toyama Prefecture, the hometown of the founder's wife. Kamejiro Masuda, the founder, established a new brand called "Masuizumi" which means "a spring (or fountain) of happiness" and was targeted at the Geisha working in the entertainment business at a nearby port. The name proved to be an excellent choice and the sake became an immediate success and is still our main brand. We make it in three categories: premium, regular and seasonal. Annual production: 306 kl. |
