The information disclosed includes important items pertaining to management decisions, events and accounting that may have an impact on investment decisions. In addition, to respond to the requests of our shareholders and investors, the Company discloses to the fullest extent possible information that is not covered by the Rules and Regulations for Appropriate Disclosure.

Methods Employed for Disclosure
With regard to information that falls into the categories defined
in the Rules and Regulations for Appropriate Disclosure, the Company will make
the information public on the TSE’s TDNet (Timely Disclosure Network). In
addition, the Company will also disclose the information on the ED-NET (Electronic
Disclosure Network), a similar system managed by the Osaka Securities Exchange.
After the release of such information, the information is posted on the Company’s
website as soon as possible. However, disclosure through the Company’s website
may, in certain cases, be substantially delayed.
Furthermore, we will make every effort to accurately and fairly disclose to shareholders and investors information that is not covered by the Rules and Regulations of Appropriate Disclosure. Therefore, shareholders and other investors are strongly recommended to access the websites of the TDNet and the ED-NET to confirm the information subject to the Rules and Regulations of Appropriate Disclosure.
Prevention of Insider Trading
On February 1, 2004, new regulations for the prevention of insider trading stipulated in Article 30 of the Enforcement Order for the Securities and Exchange Law (the so-called “12 hours rule”) came into force. Under the 12 hours rule, any person who becomes aware of information covered by the Rules and Regulations for Appropriate Disclosure is prohibited from trading prior to the time when the relevant information is made public on the websites of the TDNet and the ED-NET simultaneously with release to the media.
Therefore, JAL will make public on the websites of the TDNet and the ED-NET information covered by the Rules and Regulations for Appropriate Disclosure as well as information that may have a material effect on investment decision-making. After that, the Company will make the information available on its own website without delay.
Period of Silence
In order to prevent the leakage of information that may affect share prices, JAL has established a “Period of Silence,” whereby the Company does not make any comment or respond to questions regarding business performance during the period between the day immediately following the balance sheet date and the date on which the financial statements are made public. However, in the event that we find a major discrepancy from projections during the Period of Silence, we will disclose the relevant information in accordance with the Rules and Regulations for Appropriate Disclosure.
