Kanehachi (Mugi-Shochu)
Kanehachi (Mugi-Shochu)
The Yotsuya Shuzo distillery is located on the coast in Usa City, Oita Prefecture in the northern region of Kyushu. Its blend of traditional techniques and modern sensitivities have earned Yotsuya Shuzo accolades since its fifth generation owner took charge of production. The name Kanehachi owes its origins to the name of the founder Kanehachi Yotsuya. Using techniques unique to this distillery, this shochu is made to bring out the characteristic aroma of the main ingredient-hadakamugi (a type of barley). A true gem. Its barley fragrance comes to life and complex flavors entertain the palate.
