Sato Shochu Seizojo distillery is located on the banks of the clear waters of the Hori River. Water with high levels of purity flows between granite rocks at the river's source, further upstream than its gorge, providing good quality natural water with which to make shochu. Agriculture and forestry is popular in Miyazaki Prefecture, and in addition to mugi-shochu and imo-shochu, kuri-shochu is also produced using local chestnuts.
We apply ourselves earnestly to shochu production, but this in itself is not enough. As a company that operates in harmony with the community, it goes without saying that we should strive to make a contribution to society through the production of shochu. From a broader, even global perspective, we also see ourselves as playing a part in the history of alcoholic beverages, creating a shochu culture in which the innovations of today become the traditions of tomorrow. |
