| In 1724, in the mid Edo period, the founder of the brewery obtained a sake-brewing license. Since then, the kuramoto has been producing sacred sake for the Shiogama Shrine, which was patronized by the Date family, the then head of the domain. Today, Juichi Hirano, our toji (master brewer) who is supervising the production, has received a large number of awards and is known as one of the best sake makers in Japan. Using in-house selected yeasts, we focus on producing premium sake that dominates more than 90% of our production. Total product range: 9 sakes. Annual production: 2,700kl. |
