About the KURAMOTO
Brewed in Ishioka City, Ibaraki Prefecture, Fuchu Homare derives its name from its location in the region that served as the "seat of government" (fuchu) of Hitachi no kuni (the ancient name for the area of today's Ibaraki Prefecture) during the Tenpyo and Heian eras. The brewery was first established during the Ansei era (1854-1860) in the last part of the Edo period.
Today, the brewery produces delicate, full-flavored sakes, such as its flagship ginjo-shu, "Wataribune," brewed using a predecessor strain of Yamada Nishiki rice called "Wataribune" rice, and its seasonal, limited-edition "Taiheikai."
