Midland Square is a commercial facility building in front of the JR Nagoya Station. It includes a cinema complex, Toyota Car Showroom and offices. Two-storey elevators have been introduced here.

Nagoya Castle
There is an old Japanese saying, "Nagoya of the Owari Kingdom has the best castle in the country." Most famous for its pair of magnificent golden dolphins adorning the roof-ridge, no visitor should miss this beautiful symbol of the city.

Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology
The Toyota Group was founded on this site in 1911. Parts of the original redbrick buildings are still standing, and are preserved and displayed as an important industrial heritage. The exhibits introduce the history of industry and technology with emphasis on textile machinery and the automobile production technology that the group has developed. Actual machines used in production are on display and can be operated as well.

Noritake Garden Craft Center
As one of the projects commemorating Noritake's 100th anniversary, the complex was built on the site of the company's original factory. You can see the production process of Noritake tableware, a display of its original products and experience painting real ceramics - for a fee.

JR Central Towers
The twin tower buildings are located directly above Central Japan Railway (CJR) Nagoya Station. The hotel and office tower houses a department store, hotel, restaurants and other facilities to interest visitors. The visitors can enjoy the view of Nagoya City, Nagoya Castle and others from "Sky Street (15F)" which is 70m above ground level.

Meieki chikagai
Mei-eki is an abbreviation for Nagoya Train Station. The underground shopping area is located underneath Mei-eki-dori and Sakura-dori, and consists of several zones with names such as "Termina" "Meichika" "Sun Road," "Miyako," and "Uni Mall." "Fashion One" beneath Nagoya Station and "Esca" under the Taiko-dori exit are also part of the expanse. Each zone has clothes shops, restaurants and stores selling Nagoya specialties.

Osu
If you're familiar with Tokyo's Asakusa area then you will find Osu just as lively. There is a temple enshrining a Kannon (a form of Buddha) image that is the focal point of local worshippers who fondly call it The Kannon-san of Osu with many other historical temples also to be found in the vicinity. Large electrical appliance shops and shops selling Japanese animation collectibles that have opened recently are a few of the town's newest attractions.

Nagoya TV Tower
Located in the middle of Central Park, the tower emits intensive broadcast waves from its 180m high antenna. There is an observatory balcony 90m above ground level from where visitors can enjoy a spectacular view of Nagoya City.

Sakae
Sakae is the liveliest shopping district in Nagoya. It is an area south of the intersection of Hirokoji-dori and Otsu-dori. Here, four department stores compete against each other: Mitsukoshi, Maruei, Matsuzakaya and Parco, for the attentions of shoppers.

This shopping mall has three zones. "Central" is beneath Hisaya-odori and consists of three lanes. "Sakae Chika-gai" is located between and below Nishiki-dori and Hirokoji-dori. "Sakae Chika" is directly under Hirokoji-dori. There are about 300 shops selling various items.

The Tokugawa Art Museum
Articles handed down in the Owari Tokugawa Family, one of the three family branches of the Shogunate Tokugawa family, are kept within this museum. Its collection of swords, in particular, is said to be one of the finest in the world. The museum holds about eight annual exhibits, among which the "Warlord's Dolls Festival" is a must-see.

Nagoya Dome

Hoshigaoka Terrace
The two buildings on the Hoshigaoka Terrace stand atop a gentle slope and house an open shopping mall surrounded by a natural green border. There are more than 40 shops within including shops selling the most up to date fashions, fancy goods specialists and restaurants. The mall, its adjacent department store and a nearby bowling alley offer a pleasant day out.

Nittaiji Temple
Sacred halls stand amidst the huge premises of a total 165,000 square meters of temple grounds. The beautiful 15 meter Gandala- style Tai-an Pagoda enshrines The Buddha's relics which were presented by Thailand.

Atsuta Shrine
Atsuta Jingu was originally founded about 1900 years ago, when the sacred sword Kusanagi-no-tsurugi, one of the Imperial symbols, was enshrined. Visitors to the shrine, including those who practice the conventional New Year visit, now count 6,500,000 annually. Atsuta Shrine celebrates about seventy festivals a year, the most famous of which is the Atsuta Festival held in June.

Shirotori Garden
Nagoya's largest Japanese-style garden is made to imitate the landscape of central Japan. An artificial hill, a stream and a pond represent Mt. Ontakesan, the Kisogawa river and Isewan bay respectively, in this miniaturized landscape.

Port of Nagoya Garden Wharf
The Port of Nagoya, the gateway of the city's maritime trade business has recently been attracting the city's young who come to seek entertainment and excitement. The area has renewed its image with a spacious park, the Port Tower, JETTY, a shopping mall, and the display of "Fuji", the Japanese South Pole survey ship.

Port of Nagoya Public Aquarium
The Port of Nagoya Public Aquarium consists of a Northern Building hosting dynamic dolphins and beluga whales amidst the theme of "An Historic 3.5 Billion Year Journey," and a Southern Building displaying sea turtles, penguins, and migratory fish like tuna, with the theme of "A Journey to the South Pole." In both, visitors can feel the delicacy of nature as they are dwarfed by the vast aquarium.

Port Tower
This is a tower designed to look like a white sailboat on the ocean. The observatory on the 7th floor, 53 meter high above the sea level, commands a sweeping view of Nagoya Port. Nagoya Maritime Museum on the 3rd floor displays history, ships, and facts and figures of Nagoya Port.

Meiko Triton
The formal name is Ise Bay Highway. It stretches 11.2 kilometers from Tokai Interchange to Tobishima Interchange, with three bridges (Port of Nagoya West Grand Bridge, Port of Nagoya Central Bridge and Port of Nagoya East Grand Bridge) along the way.

Arimatsu-Narumi Tie-Dyeing Museum
Arimatsu Tie-Dye was founded by Takeda Shokuro around the start of the Edo era in 1608. Takeda produced cotton tie-dye cloths and of the over 100 techniques involved in the production processes of the past, 70 remain in use today. Demonstrated in the museum by craftspersons, anybody is welcome to watch and for those who would like a hands-on experience this traditional craft is taught for a fee. Why not make your own original tie-dye handkerchiefs?

The Old Battlefield of Okehazama
The battle of Okehazama was fought between the feudal lords Oda Nobunaga and Imagawa Yoshimoto in 1560. It lasted for only two hours but brought a huge victory for Nobunaga and was a major turning point in Japan's domestic history.
