Actions Taken in Response to Business Improvement Advisory

On December 27, 2024, we received a Business Improvement Advisory from the Civil Aviation Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism for flight 774 (Melbourne to Narita) operated on December 1, 2024, after the flight was delayed due to the Pilot in command (PIC) and the Second in command (SIC)'s excessive alcohol consumption on the day before the flight. We again regret any inconvenience and concern this may have caused to our customers and other concerned parties.

In response to this incident, we submitted a set of measures to prevent recurrence, consisting of five components, to the Civil Aviation Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism on January 24, 2025:
A. Raise awareness within the company about safety assurance, including measures against drinking alcohol
B. Further strengthening the management of flight crew's tendency to drink alcohol
C. Rebuilding the alcohol testing system
D. Rebuild the Safety Management System, including ongoing checks on the status of Prevent Measure through Administrative Warnings
E. Dealing with organizational issues of the Flight Operations Division

Additionally, to objectively verify the progress and effectiveness of these measures, we will establish a verification committee chaired by an outside director.

In May 2024, we received a strict warning regarding an inappropriate alcohol-related incident, and regrettably, a similar incident occurred just six months later. We take the loss of our customers' trust very seriously and will make every effort, led by our management and with the entire company united, to prevent recurrence and restore trust in our commitment to safety.
