On August 28, 2025 (local time), the captain scheduled to operate flight JL793 [Honolulu to Chubu (Nagoya)] consumed alcohol during the stay , which caused delays to the subject flight and the subsequent flights. In response, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) issued Administrative Guidance (Administrative Warning) on September 10, 2025.
We again regret any inconvenience and concern this may have caused to our customers and other concerned parties.
In response to this incident, we submitted Preventive Measures for Recurrence to the Civil Aviation Bureau on September 30, 2025.

-Interim measures including suspension from duty for flight crew members of particular concern
-Emergency safety discussions for all flight crew members
-Additional alcohol tests at layover locations for flight crew members

-Emergency safety discussions for all department heads led by the President and Chief Safety Officer

-Implementation of alcohol education for flight crew members with more in-depth content than previously provided

-Initiatives to Reduce Alcohol Risks for All Employees
These recurrence prevention measures primarily focus on reviewing the alcohol consumption monitoring system, incorporating insights from external expertise, and are planned to be resubmitted to the Civil Aviation Bureau by the end of November.
