On May 23, 2026, alcohol was detected during a pre-flight alcohol test administered to a cabin attendant scheduled to operate Flight JL252 (from Hiroshima Airport to Tokyo International Airport (Haneda)). As a result, immediate arrangements were made to replace the individual. However, securing a replacement cabin attendant required additional time, resulting in a flight delay of approximately 40 minutes.
Furthermore, a subsequent internal investigation revealed that the cabin attendant in question, along with another cabin attendant (*), had consumed alcohol on May 22 - the day before departure - exceeding the limits established by company regulations.
We offer our sincere apologies to our passengers and all affected parties for the significant inconvenience and distress this has caused.
(*) Note: On the day of the flight, this second cabin attendant had already been removed from duty after reporting an inability to fly for reasons unrelated to alcohol.
