JAL today announces its pledge to
"Embrace New Challenges" through group-wide efforts, in which we will launch new products and services each month, and extend our support to individuals and organizations who are striving for greater heights in their respective fields. We also established a banner which represents our pledge.
Ever since the founding of the company in 1951 when overseas travel was still a rare experience for many, we have added chapters to our history of challenging ourselves to explore and pioneer the skies of Japan and around the globe, and have continuously supported many people in meeting challenges in their respective fields abroad, such as Japan's Olympic and Paralympic athletes and national football team.
Rapidly advancing technical innovations and information technology reforms such as SNS, which connect people from all over the world, have heightened and diversified the customers' standards at greater speed than ever before. In this environment, we feel that by maintaining a constant awareness of customer needs and facing new challenges without fear of failure on the premise of maintaining flight safety, we can "deliver unparalleled service to our customers" and "contribute to the betterment of society" as mentioned in our Corporate Policy.
JAL has been meeting new challenges, such as launching the newly configured JAL SKY SUITE on international routes and JAL SKY NEXT on domestic routes, and offering an inflight Wi-Fi service, as previously announced. We will now launch new activities under the banner "Embrace New Challenges" with greater resolve to challenge ourselves, while never forgetting our gratitude to the customers.
As the first activity of "Embrace New Challenges", we introduce a new mileage campaign today called
"JAL Next Athlete Miles" to support promising young athletes and support sports into the future.
To further promote sports, which brings courage, dreams and hopes to people in Japan and around the world, and support the development of young athletes who will represent the future in their field of sports, we will enable JAL Mileage Bank (JMB) members to donate their miles. In this mileage campaign, JAL will match contributions from JMB members mile-for-mile, and present the equivalent monetary value to sports organizations of these athletes.
I hereby pledge that JAL Group will meet the challenge to become the world's most preferred and valued airline by customers.
