Route Network Expansion
Network from Tokyo Metropolitan Area
The JAL Group will actively open new routes and expand its route network following capacity expansion at Tokyo metropolitan airports in March 2020. We will also promote airline partnerships to build the optimal network.
At Haneda Airport, JAL will offer more international flights to improve convenience for customers in the Tokyo metropolitan and improve connectivity to its domestic network for both customers in regional cities and foreign visitors traveling across Japan as part of efforts to contribute to regional revitalization.
At Narita International Airport, JAL will launch services to San Francisco, Vladivostok and Bengaluru and LCC ZIPAIR will offer flights between Bangkok and Seoul (Incheon) to expand the Group’s international route network and improve Narita’s standing as a hub for connections to and from international flights.
We will cater to all air travel markets both as a full-service carrier and an LCC and expand our global network through airline partnerships.
The JAL Group has regional airlines that operate routes connecting regional cities and outlying islands, such as Hokkaido Air System, J-AIR, Japan Air Commuter, Japan Transocean Air and Ryukyu Air Commuter. We will ensure sustainable route operations that are essential to outlying islands and similar regions, fulfill our function as a transportation infrastructure for communities, connect regions and the world, expand consumption through the movement and distribution of people and goods, and thereby contribute to regional revitalization.
