Assisting Tohoku

JAL supports TohokuFor the staff toiling to reopen Sendai Airport, which was greatly damaged by the tsunami,
we collected yellow jumpsuits designed for trainers.

Along with the prayers for those who lost their lives in the Great East Japan Earthquake, our thoughts are with the surviving victims and their families. Immediately following the earthquake, as our duty as a public transportation organization, the JAL Group shored all our resources to provide temporary flights to ensure the maximum means of transport and mobility to the stricken areas. Also, in a manner only possible by an airline company, relief materials were transported free of charge. With the rebuilding of land transportation, our focus will shift from emergency support to assisting in long-term recovery. Recovery from a disaster of such tremendous damage and enormous scale is projected to take time, and we feel there will be a continued need for our support. We would like to report on the emergency support we have performed until now, and express our thoughts on recovery support as the JAL Group.
