JAL is operating the JAL Eco Jets as a symbol of our commitment to the environment, which was first launched to ply domestic routes in June 2008, and later on international routes in August 2009.
JAL operated Asia’s first ASPIRE (Asia and Pacific Initiative to Reduce Emissions) demonstration flight which included conceivable measures to reduce the environmental footprint of air travel.
To develop and promote alternative fuel with environmental considerations, JAL operated the world’s first demonstration flight using a sustainable biofuel primarily refined from the energy crop, camelina.
The JAL Group received Condé Nast Traveler the World Savers Award for being the most socially responsible airline in the airline industry through its various business activities, such as environmental activities.
