We have established a system that supports both men and women in balancing the demands of work with childcare and nursing care needs. Information on programs, role models and specific activities is provided over our corporate intranet.
This is a system to proactively support staff with a view to nurturing the next generation. JAL allows staff to choose the period of childcare leave from below. In addition, the system is flexibly operated so that they may return to work even during the requested period of leave according to individual circumstances. Over 70% of staff return to work after taking childcare leave.
JAL provides various systems to provide support for balancing work and family needs, which are used by many staff. They include maternity leave (before childbirth based on the application date to 8 weeks or 10 weeks after birth), family care leave (within 18 months) , exemption from late-night work for staff who are bringing up pre-school children or taking care of family requiring nursing care on meeting requirements, shorter work hours for child care, childcare leave for male staff, and auxiliary services such as babysitting, nursing, rental nursery items, and housekeeping.
