Regarding Improper Practices in Publicly Solicited Projects

Japan Airlines Co., Ltd. (the "Company") has conducted an internal investigation concerning projects under the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization ("NEDO"). The investigation revealed that when the Company requested and applied for labor costs to NEDO, the calculation of employee engagement hours differed from the actual hours worked. Consequently, the Company submitted a report to NEDO on June 30, 2026.

The Company will implement comprehensive measures to prevent recurrence and will correct and resubmit the applications for labor costs strictly based on engagement hours supported by objective evidence. Of the approximately 320 million yen in labor costs previously received, the Company plans to return approximately 290 million yen to NEDO identified as overclaimed.
Furthermore, taking this situation with the utmost seriousness, the Company intends to voluntarily withdraw from all currently ongoing NEDO projects.

Fully recognizing its social responsibility as a participant in publicly solicited projects, the Company will make comprehensive efforts to drastically overhaul its governance framework and prevent recurrence.
The Company sincerely apologizes to all stakeholders and concerned parties for the profound anxiety and inconvenience this matter has caused.
