The JAL Group transports cherries produced in Yamagata Prefecture, Japan's largest producer of cherries, by air for a limited period in June, the peak season for shipments. The shipments began in 2016 to meet the producers’ wishes to bring freshly picked cherries to tables across Japan, as air transportation can deliver the freshness of seasonal cherries.
