The First Step toward eVTOL! - JAL AIRTAXI Project

JAL is working toward commercialization of electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft in fiscal 2025 under the name JAL AIRTAXI Project. As a first step, a trial was held in Mie Prefecture on January 16, 2022.
In this trial, we flew four routes by helicopter, which we are considering as promising routes for operating eVTOL, and examined the operation system and potential issues. We will share these details along with the thoughts of our employees working on this project.
