JAL Artificial Intelligence (AI) Principles
The JAL Group recognizes AI technology as an important technology for solving various problems in modern society and for building a sustainable world. Therefore, in order to uphold the values that the JAL Group places importance on, such as flight safety and protection of personal identifiable information, and to comply with relevant laws, regulations, and other social rules, we will promote the use of AI technology in our own Group operations in accordance with the following principles.
1. Corporate citizenship activities
The JAL Group aims to solve social issues through its corporate citizenship activities and contribute to the realization of a sustainable society, using AI to benefit people and the global environment.
2. Respect for social values
The JAL Group will design its AI systems to respect the rule of law, human rights, democratic values, and diversity, and will also take appropriate measures to ensure a fair and just society.
3. Maintain and ensure transparency and accountability
JAL Group will ensure transparency and responsible disclosure of information about AI systems for people to understand the intent and when they assess the legitimacy of the results.
4. Risk measures for safe use of AI technology
The JAL Group constantly evaluates and controls possible risks to ensure that the AI system, while it is in use, functions in a sound, stable, and safe manner.
5. Promote the use of AI in accordance with our AI Principles
The JAL Group shall develop internal business processes to ensure that organizations and individuals involved in the development, dissemination, and operation of AI systems properly manage services and utilize AI in accordance with the above principles.
