JAL Scholarship Program 50th Anniversary - Extending our wings to deeper connections
The next-generation development program "JAL Scholarship Program" launched in 1975, celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2025.
This program aims to cultivate young people who will drive the future development of the Asia-Oceania region. It invites university students from across Asia and Oceania to Japan, where they share cultural experiences, engage in exchange, and learn together, thereby promoting mutual understanding across cultures.
Over the 50 years of its existence, approximately 1,700 students have participated in this program. Graduates are now active in a broad range of fields, including roles as ministers, diplomats, business leaders, scholars, and journalists across various countries and regions.
We present the thoughts of employees dedicated to this program, along with comments from each participating student and graduate.
