New Year痴 Greetings

As we ring in the New Year, I would like to take this opportunity to extend my greetings to you.

First of all, please allow me to express my sincere appreciation to all our guests for the opportunity to serve you onboard JAL Group flights last year.

This is my first time welcoming in the New Year since being appointed President last April.
Last year, the JAL Group was involved in the causation of some serious safety-related incidents that ultimately led to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism issuing a Business Improvement Order to JAL in December. All members of management and staff take these incidents seriously. Under management痴 lead, and with a resolute sense of duty and responsibility, we will work diligently to reform our safety standards in order to restore the trust of our guests and all of society.

2018 was a year that saw many natural disasters strike areas across Japan. I thank the many related parties for their cooperation and support that enabled us to quickly restore operations during those times. The JAL Group was able to carry out its mission as a public transport operator in providing emergency transport of relief supplies and offering discount fares for restoration assistance. We will continue working to provide recovery assistance in the event of a disaster and restoration aid for the affected areas.

Turning our eyes to this year, we will launch a new service between Tokyo (Narita) and Seattle on March 31 to provide more convenient connectivity and meet demand from Asia as well as Japan. We will also introduce the Airbus A350 on Japan-domestic routes, boasting high levels of operational performance and product competitiveness, while further improving our services to meet the expectations of our customers.

We remain committed to maintaining safe and reliable operations of every flight through the joint efforts of every JAL Group staff in order to deliver value that exceeds customer expectations.
