    "Unknown"

    Shigaku Mizukami/atelier yamanami/Shiga

As a child, he enjoyed drawing anime characters, but after he started attending Yamanami Workshop, he began drawing patterns as soon as he picked up the brushes and rulers available in the room. His work features countless colored fan-shapes and dots. The brush movements and the way he places dots are methodical, repeating the same actions slowly. It’s unclear whether he has a specific image in mind, whether he’s simply enjoying the colors and movements, or what he feels as he draws. However, the way he uses his brush for lines and the arrangement of dots seem to indicate how he is feeling at that moment in time.

    "(No Title)(Blue)"

    Midori Kudo/Lumbini Museum of Art/Iwate

Midori Kudo’s artistic process seems to have an infinite quality, as if born from meditation. Rather than aiming for a finished form, she creates through pointillism or the accumulation of short lines, finding something within that world and immersing herself endlessly. At times, she floats dreamily, smiling and talking to someone nearby, and at other times, she delves deep into her inner world and her gaze follows something that only she can see. There is a mysterious aura that surrounds her and her art.

    "The bouquet of apple"

    Yuh Mitani/Fukuoka

The character sketches she drew in the corner of her diary caught the eye of a teacher at her special needs school, which led her to participate in an exhibition and pursue a career in art. She works with colored pencils, soft watercolors, and bold acrylics, often referencing photos from encyclopedias as she draws. Her distinctive way of capturing shapes and unique compositions merge with her innate sense of color, resulting in one-of-a-kind pieces.

    "Tokyo"

    Shu Toriyama/atelier yamanami/Shiga

Since his boyhood, when he first began to enjoy drawing by copying his favorite anime and video game characters, his worldview has expanded even further. His worldview has since expanded to include animals, landscapes, monsters, and other creatures drawn with a collection of fine, precise lines. The images in his mind are reflected in his paintings, such as animals and landscapes drawn with a collection of fine, detailed lines, and cityscapes where creatures such as monsters and ghosts live happily. He says that drawing connects him with people and gives him the energy to make his dreams come true, and his enthusiasm for creation never ceases.

    "Cosmic"

    Fumie Shimaoka/Osaka

Fumie Shimaoka loves hands-on activities like origami, Japanese calligraphy, and knitting. After a remarkable recovery from acute hydrops due to keratoconus, she started creating line art using water-based pens. Fumie meticulously combines tiny circles and shapes to express her favorite things and feelings. Originally using monochrome, her art style has since expanded to include more colors and forms, evolving into her distinct current style.

  • ///ARTIST 006

    "Sunflower"

    Masahiro Fukui/Artspace Colorful Institute/Tottori

Masahiro Fukui uses acrylic paints for his artwork and draws while observing the motifs. For many years, he has been drawing flowers as his main motif, and in recent years, focusing on a single flower, sometimes drawing it continuously for months. His artwork captivates people through simplified colors and shapes drawn with a large brush, giving a lovely touch and gently leading viewers into the world of kindness. But not only that, he also has a different side in his artwork. His original "Fukui Font," boldly expressed with a marker pen, exudes a dignified atmosphere, creating a sense of intrigue.
