Artwork exhibited at the JAL SKY MUSEUM (2nd exhibit)

Since 2021, JAL Group has designated "The Week for Persons with Disabilities" as; "JAL Barrier-Free Mindset Week" (December 3-9) - a time to put this mindset to action.
As a part of this initiative, artworks by HERALBONY contracted artists were exhibited at the JAL SKY MUSEUM for approximately 3 months from December 3, 2025 to February, 2025.

This exhibition showcased a total of 10 artworks by Shiraku Mizukami, winner of the "JAL Prize" at the "HERALBONY Art Prize 2024". Through these diverse pieces that appear to dance in the sky, the display aimed to create a place where visitors could feel a sense of "connection" with the artist, to take a step forward toward a society where diversity is respected.

    Shigaku Mizukami/atelier yamanami/Shiga

As a child, he enjoyed drawing anime characters, but after he started attending Yamanami Workshop, he began drawing patterns as soon as he picked up the brushes and rulers available in the room. His work features countless colored fan-shapes and dots. The brush movements and the way he places dots are methodical, repeating the same actions slowly. It’s unclear whether he has a specific image in mind, whether he’s simply enjoying the colors and movements, or what he feels as he draws. However, the way he uses his brush for lines and the arrangement of dots seem to indicate how he is feeling at that moment in time.
