Art installation at Tennozu Isle Station on the Tokyo Monorail
JAL, HERALBONY, and Tokyo Monorail have long worked toward building a society where diversity (DE&I) is respected and everyone can shine as they are. In this initiative, we feature award-winning works from the HERALBONY Art Prize 2024—the first international art award hosted by HERALBONY, with JAL and JR East as sponsors—aiming to create new encounters and experiences during moments of travel. Through these artworks, we hope to offer every traveler a special moment and the opportunity to discover new perspectives.
By co-creating, JAL, HERALBONY, and Tokyo Monorail seek to maximize the power of art, integrating diverse values into the travel experience. We hope this initiative will make both journeys and everyday commutes more enriching.

"Unknown"
Shigaku Mizukami/atelier yamanami/ShigaAs a child, he enjoyed drawing anime characters, but after he started attending Yamanami Workshop, he began drawing patterns as soon as he picked up the brushes and rulers available in the room. His work features countless colored fan-shapes and dots. The brush movements and the way he places dots are methodical, repeating the same actions slowly. It’s unclear whether he has a specific image in mind, whether he’s simply enjoying the colors and movements, or what he feels as he draws. However, the way he uses his brush for lines and the arrangement of dots seem to indicate how he is feeling at that moment in time.
