Calling nature-lovers and photographers around the world!
This winter, JAL invites you to take part in its 7TH JAL Tancho (Red-Crowned Crane) Photo Contest, a celebration of biodiversity and the natural beauty of our planet.
Embark on a photo safari across Japan's northern island of Hokkaido to capture the majestic red-crowned crane - or "tancho" in Japanese -, a symbol of grace and the inspiration for the JAL corporate logo.
The wild crane, which was once endangered on Hokkaido, its only habitat in Japan, also symbolizes resilience and the delicate balance of our planet's ecosystems. The crane population has recovered to a healthy level on Hokkaido, thanks to decades of rigorous protection and restoration efforts by the Japanese and Hokkaido governments and local communities.
However, this symbolic bird continues to face the threat of extinction elsewhere in the world.
As an airline, JAL understands the responsibility we have for our planet. We are holding this contest for the enjoyment of our customers - but also as part of a global movement to encourage efforts to preserve biodiversity and our planet's ecosystems.
The contest reflects our ongoing commitment to environmental education and biodiversity conservation.
Unite with us through the lens and leave a legacy of protecting nature's wonders for future generations. Your passion for preserving nature and wildlife, expressed through your photographs, can inspire people across cultures and continents to take action to safeguard our world.
We look forward to receiving your amazing entries!
