Tourism Promotion of Tohoku

The JAL Group contributes to promoting tourism for destinations in Tohoku by attracting tourists to Tohoku through our business activities.

Expansion of Tohoku tours

We introduce recommended trips to Tohoku on a special corporate webpage.
Users can search tours by entering popular areas and keywords from their departure area.

The site also provides a variety of information on tours to enjoy Tohoku.

Staff training in affected areas

We have been conducting a training program in affected areas for our employees since September 2013 to visit affected areas, gain insight into the actual situation, encourage them to think of what they can do and contribute to vitalizing local economies by staying at accommodations and going shopping. (up to 30 participants per training, held twice a year).

Industrial Promotion of Tohoku

The JAL Group contributes to industrial promotion by using local products of each Tohoku prefecture in our business activities and assists in sales of local products in coordination with local governments.

Exchanging JMB miles for Tohoku local products

JAL Mileage Bank (JMB) members can exchange JMB miles for attractive Tohoku local products in “Gifts from JAL Hometown.”

Assisting in sales of local products of Tohoku prefectures

We have assisted with sales at antenna shops in Tokyo of the six Tohoku prefectures every year since 20113. (1 day per shop)
JAL Group employees participate as volunteers and promote the attractiveness of Tohoku to customers.

Furthermore, we invite antenna shops of the six Tohoku prefectures to JAL Head Office and hold a Tohoku exhibition fair once a year to contribute to industrial promotion.
